Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about creating, hosting, and playing on QuizRoom.

Getting Started

What is QuizRoom?

QuizRoom is a free, real-time interactive platform for creating and hosting quizzes, surveys, and fortune wheel raffles. Hosts create content in a browser-based editor, then share a 6-digit PIN so participants can join from any device.

Is QuizRoom free to use?

Yes. You can create quizzes, host sessions, and export results at no cost. There are no hidden fees or trial limits.

Do participants need an account?

No. Participants join by entering a 6-digit PIN in their browser — no account, no app download, no signup. Only hosts need an account to create and manage content.

Creating Quizzes

What question types are available?

QuizRoom supports 12+ question types: multiple choice, true/false, open-ended, word clouds, rankings, ratings, Q&A with upvoting, and more. You can also add images to questions and answer options.

Can I add images to my questions?

Yes. Every question supports a header image, and multiple-choice questions can have images on individual answer options too. Upload directly from the quiz editor.

Is there a limit on the number of questions?

There is no hard limit. You can add as many questions as you need for your quiz or survey.

Hosting & Playing

How do players join a session?

Players go to quizroom.no, enter the 6-digit PIN displayed on the host screen, choose a display name, and they are in. It works on any device with a browser — phones, tablets, and laptops.

How does scoring work?

Players earn points for correct answers. Faster answers earn more points. Answer streaks award bonus multipliers. The leaderboard updates live after each question.

Can I host a quiz remotely?

Absolutely. Share your screen over Zoom, Teams, or any video call, and participants join with the PIN from wherever they are. QuizRoom works great for remote and hybrid audiences.

Results & Reports

Can I export my results?

Yes. You can export results as a PDF report with leaderboards and per-question breakdowns, or as an Excel spreadsheet for detailed analysis. Results are also saved in your dashboard for future reference.

Can I reuse a quiz?

Yes. Every quiz can be hosted multiple times. Each session generates its own results, so you can compare performance across different groups or dates.
